Help & recruiting tips
How to use every part of your profile — and how to get seen by college coaches in your sport.
WiredSelect.comAsk the support chat — type your question and get step-by-step help with a link to the right page.
How do I create my profile?
Tap Create your profile, sign up with email or Google, and fill in Basics: name, class, sport and position, school, city and state, height and weight. Your profile goes live at wiredselect.com/your-name as soon as you save.
What should I fill in first?
In this order: a clear head-and-shoulders profile photo, your best film (top video is featured), this season’s game stats in Seasons, your key measurables, academics (GPA first) and contact info with a parent and a coach reference. The checklist on the right of the editor shows what’s left.
I play more than one sport. How does that work?
Add your other sports in Basics. Each sport gets its own tab on your profile and in the editor — its own positions, bio, measurables, seasons, film, photos, articles, star rating and coach references. Anything tagged "All sports" shows on every tab.
Can a parent manage the profile?
Yes. Parents can sign in and edit, and you can have alerts copied to a parent’s email (Contact → alerts). Athletes under 13 need a parent to create and manage the profile.
What are the 4 numbers at the top of my profile?
Coaches see them first. Choose them in Measurables → Top of your profile — any mix of height, weight, GPA, class, this season’s game stats and your measurables. Each sport has its own four.
How do I add a star rating (like 4.5 ⭐ KOHL’S)?
In Basics → Rating: pick the stars (halves allowed), type exactly what should follow (e.g. "KOHL’S Rating") and optionally link to the rating page. It shows in your profile header and on X graphics.
How do I add my school logo?
Basics → school logo. It shows next to your school and as a faded watermark in your school colors behind your header and X graphics.
What’s the difference between Measurables and Seasons?
Measurables are testing and camp numbers (40 time, vertical, velocity, kicking distance, PRs) with a source and an "as of" date. Seasons are your game stats, one card per season. Game stats only go in Seasons, so no number shows twice.
I run track (or swim). How do I list my events?
In Measurables → My events, tap every event you compete in. Your events lead your PRs, your meet-results log and each new season card, and show as "Events: 100 m · 200 m · Long jump" on your profile and X graphics.
How do I choose boys’ or girls’ team?
In Basics → Team (only shown for sports that have both, like basketball, volleyball, soccer and track). Your profile, PDF and X graphics then read "Girls Basketball" or "Boys Basketball", and Coach outreach starts on the women’s or men’s college coaches. Football, baseball and softball don’t ask.
What does “Verified” mean on a stat?
Add a source (a combine, camp, MaxPreps, your coach) and the number shows as Verified · source. Leave it blank and it shows as Self-reported. Coaches trust sourced numbers more.
How do seasons work?
Start your current season in Seasons and keep it updated. Add past seasons with "Add a past season". The current season always shows first on your profile; coaches can switch years with the season tabs. Seasons follow the school calendar and flip on August 1.
When do career stats show up?
Once a sport has two or more seasons. Counting stats add up, best marks keep the career best (e.g. longest field goal), and percentages are recalculated from the totals.
What are single-game highs?
Your best individual games, matches or meets — e.g. "Field goals made · 3 · vs Scranton". Add them under Seasons; they show under Career highs and can go on X graphics.
How do the charts work?
Log plays and the profile draws them: field goals by distance and punts (football), shot and save maps (soccer, lacrosse, hockey, water polo, field hockey), the shot chart (basketball), court zones (volleyball), the spray chart and pitch arsenal (baseball, softball), meet results (track, cross country, swimming) and rounds (golf). Link a clip and coaches can click a dot to watch it.
How do PRs and wind work in track?
Log every meet result under Measurables → Meet results & PRs with the place, wind (100 m, 200 m, hurdles, long and triple jump), FAT or hand timing, and indoor. Your PR per event updates by itself — wind-aided marks (over +2.0) show with a "w" but never count as a PR. Flag a school, meet or state record on the result and it shows under Honors & records.
What basketball stats should I enter?
In Seasons, the per-game averages (PPG, RPG, APG, SPG, BPG, minutes) and your shooting — field goals, 3-pointers and free throws made and attempted, so the percentages work themselves out. Add season totals too; career totals and career per-game averages are calculated once you have two seasons. Log your shot chart (Measurables → Shot chart) so coaches see where you score.
What are the yellow dots?
Practice and camp clips. Tag a video Practice or Camp in Film (or pick it on the play) and its plays show as yellow dots — coaches can watch them, but they never count in your game stats.
What film should I add first?
A 2–4 minute highlight with your best plays in the first 30 seconds, then full-game or full-match film. Drag to reorder — the top video is featured on your profile. Tag each video with its sport and type (Highlight, Game/Match/Meet Highlight, Skills, Practice, Camp, Interview).
Can I use Hudl or YouTube links?
Yes — add links from Hudl, YouTube, Vimeo or anywhere, or upload files directly (Pro and Wired Select).
How do articles work?
Paste a link to a news story about you. Wired Select pulls the headline and picture and shows it as a card under the right sport (Pro: up to 5, Wired Select: unlimited).
How do I show the colleges I’m interested in?
In Recruiting, add colleges, star your favorites (they show on your profile), log offers and your commitment.
How do I email college coaches?
Wired Select plan: Coach outreach lets you pick a school and sport, see its coaches (your position coaches are suggested first), and open a personal email in Gmail or your mail app with your profile link. Every email gets its own tracked link.
How do I know if a coach opened my email?
The Sent emails list shows opens by people. School email systems often scan links automatically when your email arrives — those show as "auto-scan" and don’t count. Verified coaches who sign in show by name.
What’s the game day visit email?
In Coach outreach, choose email 2 · Game day visit: it asks the coaches about visiting campus on a game day, uses the school’s everyday name and nickname, names every coach you picked and asks each of them for feedback.
When should I follow up?
If nobody opens your email in 7 days, a Follow up button appears (same coaches, same tracked link). You get one more a week later. Keep follow-ups short and friendly.
What does the Activity page show?
Who viewed your profile, which tracked links (emails and X posts) were opened, how long people stayed and what they watched, opened and downloaded.
What’s the profile PDF?
A printable one-page profile for camps and coaches with your stats, seasons, career totals, field goal chart and contacts. Download it from your profile.
Where do I find a college’s recruiting questionnaire?
Recruiting → Colleges I’m interested in: schools with a questionnaire show a Questionnaire button. It opens the college’s own form plus all your answers (name, grad year, GPA, test scores, height / weight, positions, school, parent and coach contacts, profile link) — tap one to copy it, paste it into their form, then tick I filled it out. It also shows in Coach outreach when you pick that school. Coaches use questionnaires to put you on their recruiting list, so fill one out for every school you email.
How do I make an X post?
Wired Select plan: open X post, choose Highlight (1–10 stats from your profile — even just the one you’re proudest of — this season, career totals, measurables, single-game highs) a Game Day recap (the opponent or meet, date, result and 1–5 stats you type), or a College visit (Game Day Visit, official / unofficial visit, junior day or camp — upload the college’s logo, add the date and the coaches you’ll meet, and tick their X accounts to tag them). The graphic is branded WiredSelect.com with your photo, school logo and star rating.
Can I use a game-day photo?
Yes — in a Game Day recap, pick any photo from your Photos or upload a new one; it replaces your profile photo on the graphic.
How do tags work?
Save the X accounts you tag often (college programs, coaches, recruiting accounts) to your list, then tick the ones to tag in each post. @WiredSelect is on by default. On X, tags count toward the 280 characters — tick "Premium" if your account allows longer posts.
Is the graphic clickable?
Yes — Post on X adds your post’s link, and X shows the graphic as a large card that opens your profile. Each post’s link is tracked in Activity. Don’t also attach the downloaded image to the same post or X hides the clickable card.
What do the plans include?
Starter (free): a public profile with 2 videos and 3 photos. Pro: unlimited film, 50 photos, tracked links, articles, the PDF and which verified coaches viewed you. Wired Select: everything in Pro plus coach outreach and follow-ups, X posts, what coaches watched and email alerts. See plans.
How do I upgrade, change or cancel my plan?
Open Plan & billing. Pick a plan to upgrade, or tap Manage billing to change your card, see invoices, switch plans or cancel. When you cancel, your paid features stay on until the end of the period you paid for, then your profile stays live on Starter.
Who sees my contact info?
Only verified college coaches (and people you send a tracked link to) — never the public.
I’m a college coach. How do I see contacts?
Use Coach sign-in with your college email address to get verified.
How do I delete my account?
Edit profile → Contact → Delete account. It removes your profile, film, photos and history for good.
