Privacy Policy

1. The short version

• Your recruiting profile is public so college coaches can find it. You choose what goes on it.
• Phone numbers and email addresses for you, your parents and your coaches are shown only to verified college coaches and to the schools you send your profile to (through a coach email or school link), and to you.
• We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads.
• Wired Select is not meant for children under 13 to use on their own. A parent or guardian must create and manage any profile for an athlete under 13.
• You can delete your account at any time, right from your account.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details: email address and password (or your Google sign-in). Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider; we never see them.
• Profile information: name, headshot, high school and school logo, city and state, graduation year, sports, positions, jersey number, height, weight, dominant hand or foot, club team, golf home course, bio, and your profile web address.
• Athletic information: measurables, stats and the dates they were current, season-by-season stats, field goal logs, film, photos, links to your social media accounts, and links to news articles about you (we read each article page once to show its headline, picture and publication name).
• Academic information: GPA, test scores, class rank, intended major, coursework and NCAA ID, if you choose to add them.
• Recruiting information: colleges you're interested in, offers and commitments.
• Contact information: your email and phone, and the name, email and phone of a parent or guardian.
• Information about other people: names, roles, schools and contact details of your coaches and trainers. Only add people who have agreed to be listed as a reference.
• Coach outreach (Wired Select): the names and email addresses of college coaches you contact, and the subject and text of the emails you write. Coaches you add are also saved to a shared directory that other Wired Select members can see (name, title, school, sport and school email; phone if given).
• College coach accounts: name, title, school and school email address, used to verify that you work for a college program.
• Support messages you send to us.

Payment information

Paid plans are billed by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your card details; we receive only billing status, plan and a customer reference, never your full card number.

Information collected automatically

• Profile views: when a verified college coach views a profile we record the coach's name, title, school and the time. When someone opens a school-specific link an athlete shared, we record the school and time. Other visits are counted but not identified.
• Engagement (Wired Select athletes only): for visits by verified coaches or through school links, we record which videos, photos and news articles were opened, which were downloaded, whether the profile PDF was saved or the Contact button clicked, and how long the profile was open in the visitor's browser. Athletes see this by school, with time shown only in broad ranges.
• Coach directory use (Wired Select): which schools you look up in the coach directory each day and how many coach emails and phone numbers are released to you, to protect the directory from bulk copying.
• Agreement records: when you accept our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy we record which version, the date and time, your account email and your browser type, so we can show what you agreed to.
• Site statistics: daily totals such as page views and the websites that sent visitors to us. These are counted without cookies and are not tied to you.
• Security and abuse prevention: to limit misuse we count requests per account or per network address. We store only a one-way scrambled (hashed) value that expires automatically, never the address itself. Our hosting providers also keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for a limited time.

3. How we use information

• To create, host and display recruiting profiles, and to let college coaches find and evaluate athletes.
• To verify college coaches and to show athletes who viewed their profile.
• To process subscriptions, free access codes and billing.
• To send account emails such as sign-in links, password resets and receipts, and — for Wired Select athletes who keep them on — an email when a verified coach views their profile or a school opens their link.
• To prepare videos for playback (we create web-friendly copies and preview images).
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To understand overall use of the site and improve it.
• To meet legal obligations.

4. Who can see your information

Once a coach downloads your film or photos or saves your PDF, that copy is outside our control. Only upload what you're comfortable sharing with college programs.

5. How we share information

We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We share it only:

• With college coaches and the public, as described above, because that is the purpose of a recruiting profile.
• With service providers who run parts of Wired Select for us and may use the data only to provide their service:
  • Google (Firebase and Google Cloud): sign-in, database, file storage, video processing and account emails
  • Netlify: website hosting
  • Stripe: payments
  • Microsoft (through GoDaddy): our support email
  • Resend: delivery of account and alert emails (for example, a Wired Select athlete's "a coach viewed your profile" email)
• When required by law, or to protect the safety, rights or property of our users, the public or Wired Select.
• In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale, subject to this policy.
• With your permission.

Coach outreach emails are sent from your own email account (for example Gmail). We don't send them for you, but we record them and the link you included so you can see when it's opened.

6. Children and teenagers

Most athletes on Wired Select are high school students, so we take extra care with minors.

• Under 13: Wired Select is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account or provide information themselves. A parent or legal guardian may create and manage a profile for an athlete under 13 and is responsible for it. [Counsel: confirm the approach under COPPA, including whether verifiable parental consent is required.] If we learn that we collected information from a child under 13 without a parent's involvement, we will delete it. Parents who believe this has happened can contact support@wiredselect.com.
• Ages 13–17: we encourage parents and guardians to help set up and review the profile. A parent or guardian can ask us to view, correct or delete their minor's information by emailing support@wiredselect.com. We may ask for reasonable proof of their relationship to the athlete.
• Profiles are public on purpose. Don't include a home address, and think carefully before adding a personal phone number. These are visible to verified coaches only, but they leave our control once shared.

7. Cookies and similar technology

We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Our sign-in provider stores a token in your browser to keep you logged in, and we save small preferences (such as whether your browser session was already counted) in your browser's storage. Stripe may set its own cookies on its checkout pages to prevent fraud.

8. Your choices and rights

• Edit or remove content at any time in your profile editor. Hidden links and items over your plan's limits are not shown publicly.
• Delete your account: athletes use Delete my account on the Plan & billing page; coaches use Delete coach account on the coach sign-in page. (You can also email support@wiredselect.com from your account email.) Your profile, film, photos and related records are deleted right away and any paid plan is canceled. We keep only what we must for legal, tax or security reasons (for example billing records, a record that the account was deleted, and which version of our terms you accepted).
• Access or correct your information by contacting us.
• College coaches can ask us to remove their coach account or directory listing.

Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another state with a privacy law), you may have extra rights, such as the right to know what we have about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to opt out of its sale (which we don't do). To use these rights, email support@wiredselect.com. We won't treat you differently for using them. [Counsel: confirm which state laws apply and the response timelines.]

9. How long we keep information

We keep your profile while your account is open. View and engagement records are shown for 30 days and kept for up to [12 months]. Abuse-prevention counters expire within days. When you delete your account we remove your information right away, and backups roll off within [100] days, except where the law requires us to keep it.

10. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls that let each athlete change only their own profile, and reputable cloud providers. Contact details are delivered only to signed-in verified coaches. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your sign-in details private.

11. Recruiting rules

Wired Select is not affiliated with the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA or any college. Colleges and coaches are responsible for following their association's rules about when and how they contact prospective athletes.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll update the date above and let account holders know by email or in the app before the changes take effect.
